Peterman's driftwood tossers are made by using a natural gray paint wash that is 100% food safe. All of their bowls are hand finished on site with some variation in color depending on the wood underneath.  Oak wood is most frequently used to make driftwood bowls. Oak is a sought after hardwood known for being strong, heavy and straight-grained.
