Inspired by a wide range of classical and modern sources, including jungle flora, baroque furniture, Edward Topsell's 1658 book The History of Four-footed Beasts and Serpents, and Miuccia Prada's Spring / Summer 2011 fashion collection, Jungle Baroque represents a bold new direction for Artel, while maintaining their ongoing commitment to meticulously handcrafted production methods.

After being mouth-blown by Artel's master craftsmen, each piece is sandblasted with a lush jungle-leaf design, hand-colored, kiln-fired, and then hand-engraved with a jungle animal figure in an ornate baroque-style frame. This multi-step process results in a truly unique object that is rich with detail and appeals equally to traditional and modern design sensibilities.
