The maple tree is beloved throughout New England for it’s wood, syrup and vibrant fall foliage.  Maple wood is characterized by a smooth grain and unique light color. Spencer Peterman upcycles fallen maple trees that are in the early stages of decomposition to get remarkable spalted lines running throughout the wood.

Each bowl is a unique masterpiece of nature.  Their spalted maple nesting bowls range in size from 10” to 21”, are sustainably sourced, upcycled, and handcrafted in New England.

Spencer Peterman has become known for their bowls showing the intricate designs of spalted wood.  Each piece is one of a kind, not only because the bowls are handmade, but because no two spalted designs are the same.

Each piece is handmade in their workshop in Massachusetts from upcycled New England trees.  The round wooden bowls have a classic smooth edge for a more formal appearance.

Hand wash with mild soap and towel dry.

Apply mineral oil once a month to maintain the natural beauty of the wood. 

Prolonged exposure to water can cause damage; please do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.

Common mistakes include letting old fruit and vegetables mold at the bottom of a bowl (this may stain) and putting a bowl/board in the oven.

Return & Exchange Policy

ONLINE RETURN POLICY:

We want you to LOVE your purchase! We will happily accept returns/exchanges postmarked within 14 days of purchase on unworn, unused new products with original tags attached.

In order to return your item(s), please email us directly at info@shopepergne.com or call the store at 615-840-6341 for shipping instructions on all returns/exchanges. Let us know you are sending an item/items back so we can be on the lookout for the shipment. Please let us know if you would like to exchange the item so we can check and reserve inventory.

Please note:

  • Refunds are credited to the original form of payment
  • Returns will be processed 3-5 business days after Epergne receives the item(s). Bank issued credit cards may take 5-7 business days for the refund to post to your account.
  • Shipping charges are not refunded
  • Exchanges are processed as inventory allows and customers will be charged for the additional shipping of the exchanged item(s).
  • ALL DISCOUNTED or SALE ITEMS are "FINAL SALE"and CANNOT be exchanged or returned.
  • Customers are responsible for the shipping on all returns and exchanges.

IN-STORE RETURN POLICY:

Because we offer an approval program (where customers are allowed to take items to try at home for 24 hours before purchasing if they provide Epergne with credit card details), items may be exchanged or returned for STORE CREDIT within 14 business days of purchase with original receipt or 30 days with a gift receipt. Store credit is good for 1 year. NO cash, check, or credit card refunds will be given. Returned items must be unworn/unused with any original tags attached/intact. DISCOUNTED or SALE items are FINAL SALE and cannot be exchanged or returned.

HOLIDAY RETURN POLICY:

Merchandise purchased between November 18, 2024 and December 25, 2024 must be returned by January 25, 2025 for STORE CREDIT. Store Credit must be used within 1 year of return date.
